About Us
Our Story
The story of La Roma Coffee begins with a serendipitous meeting at our local church in Troy, Michigan. The Baileys and Arces, though not related by blood, quickly became family. Alongside our love for faith, family, music, food, and culture was our love for coffee. As our love for coffee blossomed, so did our dream. It all began with the purchase of a La Marzocco Linea Mini, and from there, the idea of a mobile coffee cart was born. Months of planning, design, and late-night DIY sessions brought our vision to life, complete with concrete, tile, and countless trips to the local Home Depot. Finally, in October 2022, La Roma Coffee was officially born.
The Name That Speaks of Unity and Heritage
The name La Roma Coffee holds special significance for us. It's more than just a play on the word "aroma," which captures the essence of freshly brewed coffee. It also pays homage to the origins of our families. Alan and Gaby hail from Mexico City, where a vibrant community known as La Roma holds a special place in their hearts. In La Roma, they discovered the perfect blend of art and fantastic coffee shops. On the other side of the story, Brent and Mary come from Georgia, where they first met and lived in a town called Rome. Thus, La Roma Coffee stands as a symbol of blending cultures, flavors, and experiences, mirroring what we aim to offer to your guests through our catering.
